THE HIDDEN CRISIS, UNA CRISIS ENCUBIERTA, LA CRISE CACHé

Officially launched on the 1st of March 2011 in New York, the Report, entitled ‘The hidden crisis: Armed conflict and education’ warns that despite considerable progress, many countries will not reach the six EFA goals by 2015. In particular, the Report shows that armed conflict is a major obstacle for the attainment of EFA goals. In conflict-affected poor countries, 28 million children of primary school age are out of school. Education accounts for just 2% of humanitarian aid. And no sector has a smaller share of humanitarian appeals funded: just 38% of aid requests for education are met, which is around half the average for all sectors....

Presentando el 1 de marzo de 2011 en Nueva York, el Informe titulado: “Una crisis encubierta: conflictos armados y educación” advierte que, a pesar de los progresos realizados, un gran número de países no habrán alcanzado en el 2015, los seis objetivos de la Educación para Todos que se fijaron en el plano internacional. El informe muestra, en particular, que los conflictos armados son el mayor obstáculo para el logro de la EPT. En los países pobres afectados por conflictos, hay 28 millones de niños en edad de cursar la enseñanza primaria que están sin escolarizar. Apenas un 2% de la ayuda humanitaria va a parar a la educación. Además, la educación es el sector donde menor es la proporción de peticiones de ayuda humanitaria que obtienen financiación: apenas un 38% de esas peticiones son satisfechas, lo que representa la mitad del porcentaje medio observado en todos los demás sectores.
UNA CRISIS ENCUBIERTA

Lancé le 1er mars 2011 à New York, le rapport intitulé « La crise cachée : les conflits armés et l’éducation » prévient que, malgré des progrès considérables réalisés, de nombreux pays n´atteindront pas, en 2015, les six objectifs de l’Éducation pour tous (EPT) fixés au plan international। Le rapport montre, en particulier, que les conflits armés sont un obstacle majeur aux objectifs de l´EPT। Dans les pays pauvres touchés par un conflit, 28 millions d’enfants en âge de fréquenter l’école primaire ne sont pas scolarisés. L’éducation ne représente que 2 % de l’aide humanitaire. Qui plus est, aucun secteur ne reçoit une part plus faible qu’elle des appels de fonds humanitaires financés : seules 38 % des demandes d’aide à l’éducation sont satisfaites, chiffre environ 2 fois inférieur à la moyenne de l’ensemble des autres secteurs.....

Catholic schools in England and Wales were seen to provide a better education than other institutions on all levels, particularly in the personal development of students.

These were some of the conclusions in two publications released Monday by the Catholic Education Service for England and Wales (CESEW).

The CESEW published a "Digest of 2009 Census Data for Schools and Colleges" as well as a report titled "Value Added: the Distinctive Contribution of Catholic Schools and Colleges in England."

HAPPY NEW YEAR ! BEST WISHES FOR A GOOD LIFE

What can we wish for the New Year? We are all convinced that it should be well living, though we all don’t agree with the significance of it.
If we should do a research about the meaning of good life, we can have several answers: from a big amount of money, to physical wellness, to the lovers of the day, to success in TV or in his own career, to serenity, to the desired job position, to generosity towards the others, to overwhelming of the opponents and something more.
However all around there are insecurity and discomfort about future and because of all the problems of everyday life the idea of well living is not clear and not always the same
Sometimes it can seem a sheer utopianism........
