PHILIPPINES - UMAP - AWARD FOR PROF. DR. BELEN TANGCO, WUCT COUNCILLOR

I gladly share some photos on internationalization of higher education. 

One photo shows the Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education, Dr. Patricia B. Licuanan, Office of the President, Republic of the Philippines, awarding yours truly for having served as President of the University Mobility in Asia Pacific (UMAP) from 2010-2014. 

Others in photo are current sworn-in officials. We facilitate student and faculty exchange, award research grants, and monitor quality education. UMAP has some 12-15 active member countries. 

There are 34 eligible member countries in Asia Pacific. Dr. Licuanan and I served as International Board Chairperson and Co-Chairperson , respectively in 2011-2012 with a culminating international congress at the end of our term.
