UNESCO is breaking the bias this International Women’s Day, promoting a gender equal and inclusive world free of stereotypes. To mark #IWD2022, UNESCO will be showcasing good practices in favour of young women’s education through a collection of testimonies, a video documentary and a factsheet (available in FR and SP).

TRANSFORMING EDUCATION SUMMIT UPDATE


Last week, the UN Secretary-General appointed Mr. Leonardo Garnier of Costa Rica as Special Adviser for the Transforming Education Summit (TES). The Special Adviser will provide strategic advice on issues of transforming education and will work under the leadership of the Deputy Secretary-General/Chair of the United Nations Sustainable Development Group and will liaise closely with the Summit Secretariat hosted by UNESCO to build momentum in advance of the Summit. He will also support the Secretary-General in consulting governments and engaging stakeholders with a view to shaping concrete and ambitious deliverables to be presented at the Summit.

TRANSFORMING EDUCATION SUMMIT – ADVISORY COMMITTEE


The Summit Advisory Committee will be co-chaired by UN Deputy Secretary-General and HE David Moinina Sengeh, Minister of Basic and Senior Secondary Education and Chief Innovation Officer, Government of the Republic of Sierra Leone.

The Advisory Committee includes the SDG4-Education 2030 High Level Steering Committee members. Your CCNGO Coordination Group representatives elected member Refat Sabbah, President of the Global Campaign for Education will represent the CCNGO on the Advisory Group.
