UNIVERSITY OF THE PEACE
IN AFRICA:
CALL FOR REGISTRATION
Dear Colleagues of UMEC-WUCT,
We are celebrating 20 years of continuous, pan-African Peace training offered to
project leaders, to development programme officers, to local opinion leaders
and to strategic staff in faith communities, congregations and NGOs. Let us
inform you about our Africa Peace University (UPA) Campus 2023 and to
invite you to consider your and your partners' participation.
A network of over 300 laureates in 30 countries is
emerging from the UPA, working actively and non-violently on the constructive
transformation of conflicts and on the de-escalation of violence and
(political) manipulation. Internationally, they are mobilising for INOVAR
- a Nonviolent, Active and Rapid Intervention program for (post-)conflict
regions. With the initiative "Rethinking African Security",
our training has been given a systemic dimension since last year, which we want
to further expand through the Campus 2023.

partners about this special opportunity for in-depth peace training and
encourage them to enrol. Feel free to distribute the invitation everywhere
and especially in Africa.
This year, our Campus is invited by the local peace
initiative Centre de Jeunes de Kamenge, a youth project that has been
active for 30 years in a marginalised township of Bujumbura. Together with our
partner, we offer again a "summer university" with 6 learning modules
and in the dynamics of the 3-week full-board Campus. Our international trainers
offer participants an exciting Peace competence learning and the possibility
to be certified as "African Peace Builder".
